We are a true not-for-profit community development initiative empowering local young adults through education and training (as Spanish instructors) and connecting students with local families via associated homestay arrangements.
Our instructors are all young adults from the community of Pucará who have graduated from a state-certified Teaching Spanish as a Second Language course and are licensed by Ecuador’s Education Ministry.
The school was founded in 2009 and, with the support of C.A.S.A Interamericana, we built a small Centro Cultural that houses the School. The Centro Cultural’ is located in the centre of Pucará, on the main road next to the church and enjoys stunning views of the cloud forests and Andes. The Centro Cultural comprises three class rooms, bathroom, reception area, gardens, and an additional outdoor learning area.
Our focus is to provide an all-encompassing experience – creating links between culture, people, language and nature. It is the perfect way to gain an in-depth appreciation of the richness of the land and its people.
We also coordinate guided excursions and volunteer opportunities including with the economic development and conservation projects administered by the not-for-profit organization Inter-American Center for the Arts, Sustainability, and Action (C.A.S.A Interamericana).
